Some of our programs have been around for many years. Others are created when we identify a new need in the community.

Annapolis Valley Work Centre

The Annapolis Valley Work Centre is a free 27-week program which offers specialized training in four basic areas as well as personal support to help you achieve your employment goals.

Nova Scotia Works Centre

Our Nova Scotia Works Centre in Coldbrook,  Middleton and  Annapolis Royal, can handle your employment information and resource needs.  We offer job search assistance, help writing resumes and cover letters, workshops, and so much more. 

Continuing Care Assistant Program

PeopleWorx is a registered Private Career College and our CCA program is delivered in accordance with current NS CCA Curriculum Standards and involves theory and practice through the use of classroom, laboratory, and clinical placements. Our Continuing Care Assistant Program is a 9 month program designed to give you the skills, tools and support you need to begin working as a provincially certified Continuing Care Assistant. CCAs are front line members of a collaborative health care team working together with a shared goal of enriching quality of life in their communities. Employment settings can include long term care facilities, small option homes, community residences, residential care facilities and hospitals.

During the course of providing programs and services, PeopleWorx acquires and maintains certain personal information about individuals who access, or apply for access to, these programs and services.  This document is an outline of the privacy protection practices PeopleWorx has adopted to continue to meet federally legislated requirements.

What is personal information?

Personal information is any information that identifies an individual.  In the case of PeopleWorx, this information may include:  name, date of birth, social insurance number, address and phone number, and employment history, as well as marital, educational, medical and financial information.

How is this information used?

The personal information gathered is necessary for PeopleWorx to provide programs and services appropriate to the needs of an individual.  It is also used to provide statistical information to agencies providing funding for our programs and services.  In some instances, information may be shared with agencies providing supports or subsidies to program participants.

Who has access to this information?

Members of PeopleWorx’ staff have access to information relevant to their duties as they relate to providing programs and services.  Individuals whose personal information is maintained by PeopleWorx, may access this information to the extent that it does not infringe upon the privacy of other individuals. 

An individual’s personal information will only be released to individuals or agencies outside PeopleWorx with their consent, and then, only the specified information will be released.  Some situations that could require release of personal information are:

How long is this information kept?

Personal information gathered is maintained as long as an individual regularly accesses PeopleWorx’ programs and services, and for a period of five years from the date the individual last accesses those programs and services.
