During the course of providing programs and services, PeopleWorx acquires and maintains certain personal information about individuals who access, or apply for access to, these programs and services. The personal information gathered is necessary for PeopleWorx to provide programs and services appropriate to the needs of an individual. It is also used to provide statistical information to agencies providing funding for our programs and services. In some instances, information may be shared with agencies providing supports or subsidies to program participants.
Who has access to this information?
Members of PeopleWorx’ staff have access to information relevant to their duties as they relate to providing programs and services. Individuals whose personal information is maintained by PeopleWorx, may access this information to the extent that it does not infringe upon the privacy of other individuals.
An individual’s personal information will only be released to individuals or agencies outside PeopleWorx with their consent, and then, only the specified information will be released. Some situations that could require release of personal information are:
- Providing a referral to another community service provider or program.
- Assisting an individual in gaining access to community / government resources.
- Accessing relevant information about an individual from other agencies to facilitate delivery of programs or services.
- As part of an individual’s program, securing a community work placement, accessing further education, or obtaining employment.
We do not provide or sell personal information to any organization or company for the purpose of marketing or solicitation.
How long is this information kept?
Personal information gathered is maintained as long as an individual regularly accesses PeopleWorx’ programs and services, and for a period of five years from the date the individual last accesses those programs and services.
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
